A bit more exploration today with a trip to Cape Leeuwin lighthouse. The lure being seeing the spot where the Indian Ocean meets The Southern Ocean. The drive and scenery didn't disappoint with suitably rugged landscapes,  beautiful spring flowers,  and because we scored a calm day, very calm seas for that area. Then because we were 'grannies' we resisted the cafe with cakes and instead we went for a brief swim at the aptly named Grannys pool. Again very cold, but at least the sun was shining. Got distracted from the water views with a shingle backed lizard instead. Those among us who really like their wine decided to taste the expensive undersea wine range. "The gentle rocking of the wine in casks under the sea enhances the flavour", etc and so on. They didn't really like it, and definitely decided wasn't worth the money. The bottles look suitably aged with barnacles. I had my much nicer Thermos of hot tea out in the sunny carpark. Then a quick visit to ...

Today we were off to Busselton, Sue and I to walk the jetty, and see whatever else we wanted to, while Caroline and David visited friends. Beautiful day, and although it looked like rain  we didn't get any. Once at end of jetty, I asked, and there was room on the 15 minute self guided tour to underwater aquarium, so down we went. Was well worth it to see everything   snd as really calm day up above, was very calm underwater as well. We then checked out the heritage trail, first stop being the Courthouse Cafe, with the food being modern, thank goodness. Lots of history about shipwrecks, the old goal, and of course room for art displays. We enjoyed it all.  Continuing on the trail, which we didn't realise was so long, but maybe we were just tired, we made it to the museum. Interesting I found things that I'd used as a young person like the old irons,  due to us living without electric power. Random old trees. Met back up with rest of our group, and headed ho...

Travel day again, goal Canal Rocks Beachfront Apartmen Clematis linearifolia Slender Clematis, f amily:  RANUNCULACEAE The Red Tingle, E. jacksonii Karri she oak,  Allocasuarina decussata. Looking down, hard to gauge perspective.  First stop Valley of the Giant's. Also spotted a bandicoot there Then driving through lovely green fields, tinted yellow by thousands of yellow daisy type flowers, forests with underskirts of yellow wattle, with high lights of purple native sarsaparilla vine and sprinkled with the odd flash of red/orange. Glad to get to our accommodation in the late afternoon,  settle in and enjoy the beach views. Like an expensive landscaped garden, but all growing wild along this portion of the Cape to Cape walk. Rugged coastal landscapes and orange rocks, courtesy of lichen.
