Perth, 2025.10.06, King River, Albany
Transition from the city, i.e. Fremantle to country, a farmstay house outside of Albany.
Lovely drive down, once we played luggage tetris, fitting 4 suitcases into the boot of a MG SUV, along with us and other associated paraphernalia. We did it!! The difference in drive was nice, beautiful Geraldton Wax lining the highway, and just the difference in vegetation and flowers/trees was amazing. Stopped first at a place I'd seen on the map, which turned out to be lovely. Sullivan's Rock is an outcrop of ?granite, not as tall or large as Bald Rock, but still worth having a look at. Due to the rain had multiple little pools, and all plants were growing well.
Coral Vine (Kennedia coccinea), native.Boronia heterophylla, commonly known as red boronia[2] or Kalgan boronia,[3], native.
Lechenaultia Biloba 'Blue Lechenaultia' - native.
Daviesia horrida has very attractive bright orange flowers, brilliant in the garden. On the other hand it also possesses some very sharp thorns. hence the common name, Prickly Bitter Pea, native.
From there we kept going to Kojonup, the "up" part meaning 'place of' in the local indigenous dialect of Noongar, and Kojo, 'place of the stone axe', therefore every town with 'up' refers back to something significant. Anyway enough history aside, we had a pleasant picnic lunch, inspected the big wool wagon, the rose maze, the stone axe on display and a lovely photographic exhibition in the vistor centre.
Then on to Albany, checked out our lovely little house, the creek, local shops, and generally just relaxed.

That looks lovely Jasmine.
