Swimming in the Indian Ocean and Seeing Art.
The day dawned bright and sunny, so after a very early awakening, I forgot to put phone on silent and it rang at 3:30 am, we were up with the cold waters of the Indian Ocean in our sights. Learnt our bit of geography and the Indian Ocean is from the North West corner of WA, where The Timor Sea begins, to the South West corner at Cape Leeuwin, where we'll try to visit later in our trip. Anyway, back to swimming, wondering about the intelligence of it when we still had long pants, shirts and a warm vest on, prior to getting changed, but life is only lived once, and a new goal is to swim in all the seas or oceans surrounding Australia. Tha sand was cold, and the water definitely refreshing, but in we went! Well 2 of us, one refrained as she feels the cold, and definitely has less insulation on her then us. Was a nicer swell and wave break then last time I swam at Maroochydore QLD. Managed 20 minutes or so before the lure of a warm cappuccino became too much and we hastily got out and put on all the warm clothes we had.
Then it was a walk to work off the very nice pastries, and enjoy the scenery. Found the Cottesloe Sundial, really cool, and fairly accurate, the shadow line marks the time, and you pick your month to correlate, i.e. it was about 1130 am.
Then a nice walk home, admiring others peoples hard work in their gardens, and some pretty coastal views. Including verge play equipment, private, but on common land~debate ongoing apparently, especially if someone else's child injures them selves on your play gym, on common ground. That's money for a lawyer for sure.
And that was only the morning. Afternoon saw us check out the little local strip of shops, with prices to match the area. Saw some art, tried to see more art, but the main WA art gallery shuts Tuesdays!! So inspected a few old buildings then gave up and went home to put our feet up.
