Tasmania Day 8 Myrtle Park Camping and Recreation Ground
So we scored a rest morning/day at the campground, did our washing, had gentle walks on level ground, played games, and chatted to everyone who walked past our spot, as we lurked outside the laundry monitoring our charging devices. But there's a plan in everything, as positively informed of a nice campground where we could see fairy penguins, so booked into there after our night in Launceston.
Chilling, washing drying on rope strung between posts, sunny and windy so all dried quickly.
Van arrived early at 1430, so quickly disembowelled the other one of all our possessions , then loaded them into the new van. Exactly thd same model but much younger, and left, and what did we find, now the phone doing google maps actually charged!
At, least still had time to drive to Launceston heading straight for Cataract gorge. I'm sure google maps decided the steepest suburban streets were the best to challenge my driving, and the new van's capabilities on route to the gorge. Enjoyed our walk, the views and then the chairlift back to the carpark area. The resident peacocks were showing off to everyone.
On the chairlift
Now to Old Mac's Farm camping for the night. We'd booked a powered site, one of the privileged with better views, but the unpowered sites still very popular with lots of csmpers present. Only one train before bed ran behind the campsite, and then just as quiet as other places we've stayed.

Sounds like the van shenanigans was Type 2 fun: the type you don't enjoy at the time but makes a great tale afterwards! Glad to hear it was all sorted.
