Tasmania Day 9, Old Mac's to Picnic Point campsite

So waking at what seems like a very early hour, as all other campers seem to be tucked up in their beds, we prepared for our day. Today we proposed a bit of culture in the form of the art gallery after monkey spotting in City Park. We were surprised to see then, just up from us a group of campers performing their morning pilates routine out on the grass, who cheerfully beckoned us to join them, unfortunately breakfast and schedule beckoned stronger!

Heading off via some shopping in Coles, we needed all our supplies for next 5 days, we found a park near City park. City park has the attraction of Macaque monkeys. Being market day it was much busier then we'd anticipated. But then spotting lots of people with brown paper packets signalling a bakery, we had to try something for pre morning tea, yum!

Very green park compared to the rest of Tasmania,  lots of watering!!

Morning debugging/grooming session

Then as per Mr google went to the museum/art gallery to see the art. Well I don't know where it was, but there was not much art in the gallery that we enjoyed. Though nice to walk around without a backpack for while.

Next stop Tamar valley wetlands. Ended up a much longer walk then we thought, but extremely easy, and bonus of toilets at the end, and wild blackberries for a snack. We also spotted the resident echidna,  but he was far too busy eating ants to say hi.

Then, after being fortified with hot chocolate at Anvers Tasmania, we found a lighthouse we could visit, very decently at the end of a  bitumen road, so we did! Finally reached our little patch of Australia to camp for the night, Picnic Point Camping Ground, West Ulverstone. We enjoyed the beach, more unsuccessful fishing, and seeing the penguins. Very hard to photograph in the dark with no flash!

This one is a baby, hence we got to see his parents coming back to feed him.
