Day 16, 7/3/26, On to Molesworth.

Final full day of Tassie Trip.

After our normal early morning we set off to Maydena for our booked train cart ride. But first we enjoyed another sunrise beside Lake Pedder, gorgeous scenery on the way back including the sculpture and lairy beehives ~ collecting the precious pollen from leatherwood flowers for yummy honey.

Arrived early for our Railtrack Riders ride along the old railway line, with us providing the manpower! Was a lot harder then it looks, so was glad that they have a engine to assist with pushing on the uphill's, otherwise I don't think we would of made it.

After that checked out the trout farm, too late to get anything too eat at the lovely cafe, but still was interesting to see the trout, and other freshwater cold climate fish. Lots of history to read, but again the platypus along the creek was elusive, Tony and I didn't see them last time we were there either.

Then we were off to Molesworth to see my nursing friend from Redland Hospital who did a big tree change to their "hobby" farm outside Hobart. Now they have a collection of guinea fowl, chickens, miniature donkeys, some sheep and 2 horses for riding. Was looking dry, but normal for this time of year, but at least there is a creek on their border and it doesn't run dry. We all, her friends from work, have been invited to stay in their lovely little cottage on the property. Naarah got cold walking around ha ing a look, so was able to warm up with her children in the spa, I think she's made 2 more admirers.

The welcoming committee,  very noisy one.
Views from back cottage landing.
Warming up.
Now, for a good nights sleep, in a perfect level bed, before we try to stuff all our gear back into our suitcases, mmmm, why does it expand???.
