Day 4, 28/09, Huddersfield

Beautiful sunny clear day, just right to do a nice walk beside the narrowboat canal. Had a lovely detour, thanks google, to avoid peak hour traffic woes on the way to pick up Tim, our nephew, at his place. Then drove to Marsden to begin the walk beside the canal, going the other direction from what we did yesterday. Best climate to walk, nice and cool, and a very easy walk.

Arriving at Slaithwaite, pronounced Slow-it, we decided that we definitely needed coffee, tea and something to eat. On Tim's recommendation we went to Sole Kitchen and Common Room. Mmmm, still allowed to smoke here in dining areas outside so had to move inside to get away from the pollution. Suitably refreshed we then made our way back to our car.

Still ready for more sightseeing we made our way up to Castle Hill, as a high place it's seen its fair share of fortifications and no doubt battles to match. Stunning 360 degree views of Huddersfield and country. Surprised to see a small removalist type truck coming up the one lane road, and causing dramas, as very little passing space. Then of course we had to go check out Tim and Bec's place, weren't able to see Bec as she's out with friends from Australia too.
